AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): After the major jolt received after Madhyamik examination’s result publication with 34 % drop-outs across the state, Tripura Board of Secondary Education has announced Class-12 result for Arts and Commerce very poor passing percentage, especially in ADC areas. The Pass rate has been decreased by 6 % for Class 12 Exam in compared to the earlier year-2015. Reportedly, whereas in the last year the passing percentage was 81.07 %, this year it has more downed to 71.11 %. In ADC area the pass rate is 58.47 % whereas in last year it was 66.40 %.
One hour after the result publication, asking the reason behind this pathetic result of Class-12, TBSE President Mihir Deb told TIWN that, “The private tuition business has damaged the Education system in Tripura and in coming days the result will be more and more bad”.
Against Mihir Deb’s comment TIWN asked him, “The private tuition business is rampant in Agartala, then why ADC areas have done such bad results?”. However replying this question Mihir Deb said, “From Golaghati students via bicycle reach to Bishalgarh to take tuition, then from Udaipur students travels Agartala to take private-tuition, and that is why students has no connection with books at all”.
“The private tuition business here in town and other areas are also affecting the hills, where there is no private tutors at all. As Tripura’s Education system has fully depending upon Private tuitions, students in ADC areas are just helpless, which are visible in their answer-sheets”, he said.
He added, “ADC areas students have miserably failed in exam and their answer scripts are also horrible”.
“In mathematics the condition is most pathetic as only 29 % could pass”, Deb added.
However, he was repeatedly mentioning that in the next year it will more pathetic result.
It’s worthy to mention here that the highest literacy ranker state Tripura although increasing in number of literates, the quality of Education has remained very low. Education Minister, although claims tall about the degree colleges upgardation, rural Tripura’s development, peace and tranquility, Tripura’s Education system has remained backward in urban and rural areas.
Corruption, private tuition has damaged the quality of Education in state.
Pathetic condition of ADC results (58.47 %) hits Tripura Education system. ADC area’s degrading results year after year reflects Tripura Education system’s negligence to develop ADC and backward areas.
Tripura’s rural schools suffer due to lack of teachers, proper infrastructure and basic Educational set ups.
