Agartala, Sept 20 ( TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is scheduled to inaugurate 21 MW gas turbine unit no. 9 of Rokhia gas based thermal power project on September 20.

Minister of Power Manik Dey, Minister of  Sports and Youth Affairs Sahid Choudhuri, Secretary of power Shashi Ranjan Kumar and Chairman cum Managing Director Shyamal Roy will also remain present in the programme. A senior official of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) informed  that the cost of the project was Rs 85 crores funded by GOT. The project was completed by three years which  started on 2010. He said that the power generated from the project will be utilized by the people of Tripura for domestic, commercial, industrial, agricultural and other various purposes.
