Malaria spreading its wings in Tripura, Inept administrators and incompetent official’s state health department fails to protect the people from the attack of malaria

AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): Inept administrators and incompetent officials of the Health and Family Welfare department of Tripura is only responsible for the great debacle which was faced by the whole state last year when the Malaria Outbreak did hit the entire state and again fresh outbreak of Malaria is reported from Satirbazar subdivision this year.Tripura is yet again in the grip of Malaria with the report of malaria outbreak at at Satirbazar Sub-division. Though the state govt. claims to have taken certain measures to prevent the situation but situation remains alarming. The state medical team has been conducting a regular health camp at the malaria affected villages but Malaria is still prevailing in the state.

Since many tribal populations do not complete the full course of drugs, malaria become drug resistant and once a mosquito bites them, it can infect others. Many malaria cases are reported even in winter because of this phenomenon. 

As this season is peak season for jhum cultivation the tribals’ are toiling in fields that are swarmed with mosquitoes on their bodies, hence they are susceptible to mosquito bites

It is to be mentioned here that with the recent outbreak of malaria panic has started to grip the people living in Santirbazar and nearby areas. Only a year ago more than many people died across the state due to malaria attack. And again the disease started to raise panic in the areas. The situation became even worse due to as majority of the sufferers prefer to be treated by local priests instead of trained doctors.  

It is to be mentioned here that 7 years old Joshen Reang S/O Krishna Ram Reang and 28 years old Jitendra Reang of Anuram Para under Lowgangsom Village were reported dead due to malaria. Rupees five thousand have been provided by Santirbazar Sub Divisional Administration as preliminary relief.

 Minister Manindra Reang ,Zila sabhadhipati Himanshu Roy and SDM Rajesh Dutta and other Health also visited the spot.Local people were also advised to send patients to Santirbazar District Hospital who are having fever as soon as possible.

CMO South Tripura also requested to arrange one special health camp with Mala detection kits on 5th May in Anurampara of Lowgangsom ADC Village and also direct all Medical Officer to conduct special Blood test camp for Malaria patients.

Moreover SDPO Santirbazar also directed to arrange all necessary security in Lowgansom ADC village for smooth conduct of the health camp.
