KAMALPUR, April 1 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident some local youths tried to ransack the TSECL Kamalpur sub-divisional office last night around 9-30 pm last night. They attacked the office due to power failure during the India-West Indies semi-final match yesterday. The Senior Manager of Kamalpur lodged an FIR with the Kamalpur Police Station.
According to the police report and the information provided by the Senior Manager of TSECL Swapan Shilsharma, during the match around 9-15 pm the power connectivity got disconnected for sometimes. Then some local youths gathered in front of the office and tried to scold the staffs and the officials with slang languages.
Moreover, they threw stones inside the office premises and broke the window panes and tried to break the lock of the main gate. Even though the power restored within few minutes, they still continued their activities for few more time.
Then the Senior Manager Swapan Shilshsrma filed an FIR against six local youths namely Pradip Debnath, Subrata Saha, Sandipan Saha, Dipankar Deb, Biplab Deb and Tanmoy Das. Police registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
The incident created much controversy and resentment among the locales. At the same time, the role of the staffs in not calling the police immediately, also brewed mystery.
