TAWU to organize rally on November 11, to raise voice against price hike

AGARTALA, Oct 31 (TIWN): Addressing the State Level Convention of Tripura Agricultural Workers Union on Friday, Minister for Health & Family Welfare Badal Choudhury urged the Village Committees and the Village Panchayat to take a drive over finding the Khash Land and to provide it to the needy people.

Speaking at the convention, mainly organized to discuss about the problem of the landless and house less people, Minister Choudhury stated that most of the Village Panchayat and Village Committee are under the left rule Government. Therefore, the State Government is trying to provide land to the landless families.

Besides, Minister Choudhury also urged to take a find out the families holding the extra Khash Land (State Owned Land) and to provide those extra lands to the needy families.

However, during the convention from every group of landless and house less one representative were also present.

Besides, it has been mentioned that a convention and rally will be organized on November 11. However, from November 1 to 9, rally will be organized in all the regions of the state over three demands. One of the demands is to reduce the price of the daily commodities.

Further, a rally will be organized on December 3 over the demands of the All India Agricultural Workers Union. They will be demanding for minimum 250 days of work under MGNREGA at Rs. 300 per day, to double the budget of Rural Development, MGNREGA and Welfare Scheme, to implement food security act fully.

Besides, they will also demand to provide house sites and homes for the homeless, to implement minimum wages Act effectively and endure equal wages for equal work for women, to end Atrocities against SC/ST and minorities and to ensure their security and also pass the draft comprehensive central legislation for Agriculture labour immediately.

However, Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Bhanu Lal Saha, State Secretary of Tripura Agricultural Workers Union Babul Bhadra and others were present at the programme.
