15 years running, construction of cemented bridge yet to get complete

UDAIPUR, Oct 28 (TIWN): After prolonged fifteen years, no hope of completion of the construction of cemented bridge over Gomati River in Rangamati area enlighten among the locals.

Reportedly, it has been fifteen years running that the construction of the cemented bridge has started by till day no clue is there of when the construction work will be over.

According to the locals, the cemented bridge is the demand of many years and when it has finally begun after 15 years of duration also the construction work is not getting over.

Besides, they also said that the existing wooden bridge is in a very poor condition and the wood is decaying day by day. If the construction of the cemented bridge do not get over than it can create huge problem.

Daily huge number of vehicles and people passes through the bridge and it is getting weak day by day.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has laid the foundation stone on August 23, in the year 2001.

Till day three construction agencies has been changed and recently fourth number agency is handling the construction work, said the locals. But no hope of completion of the construction work yet, added locals.

The concerned authorities must take immediate action towards rectification of the bridge and to complete the construction work of the cemented bridge as soon as possible, said the locals.
