Use of fake currency is on rise, authority plays silent role

AGARTALA, October 15 (TIWN): With Durga Puja knocking at the door, phensedyl business blazing all across Kumarghat and in various interior parts of the State.

Locals alleged that despite of several complaints the authority is in yawning siesta and are least bothered about the burning issue of the phensedyl business.

Just when counting days are left for the auspicious celebration of Durga Puja, huge amount of corex and phensedyl are being imported in the State illegally.

The traders are also carrying out their business in the broad day light. Besides, the use of fake currency is on rise in the remote areas of Kumarghat and Longtorai valley.

Reportedly, number of cases regarding the use of fake currency has been registered from Kumarghat and Longtorai valley sub-division. Recently, fake currency of Rs. 500 has been recovered from a vendor at Santir Bazaar.

Soon after the incident came into notice the police have been informed but till day the police could not track the counterfeiters involved in the issue of fake currency.

However, due to rise in the use of fake currency the traders had to face several problems. Therefore, proper initiatives must be taken to curb the rampant use of fake currency and should have keen eyes blazing issue of illegal phensedyl business across various interior parts of the State.
