AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Where the market price of the 1 kg packet of salt stands at about Rs15, the forest department is buying salt for Rs 226 per Kg.
It is to be mentioned here that the market price of 1 kg salt is Rs 15 and Forest department has been buying salt for Rs 226 for 1kg packet of salt without any tender.
The department requires salty for the conservation of the animal and taking the advantage of negligence of inspection the department has looted lacks of money in the name of buying salt.
When the audit was conducted it was seen that the department has bought a total of 6200 kg of salt for Rs14lakh57thousand 102.
The department has been looting the amount of money without any tender and bought the huge amount of salt from Ankur distribution.
During the audit it was revealed that, in the year 2014-15 financial years the scandal of 6200 kg of salt for Rs14lakh57thousand 102 was done.
Although the issue was reported to the finance department but there was no such action taken by the finance department to look into the matter.
