No direct funding from centre, we demand separate funding for TTAADC, says CEM

AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN):The left ruled administration of Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) does not support the demand of direct funding from central government. The state government also endorses the stand of TTAADC administration. This was stated jointly by state forest minister, Naresh Jamatia and chief executive member of TTAADC, Radhacharan Debbarma while talking to reporters at secretariat on Monday evenng.

Radhacharan stated let centre allocate  separate fund for TTAADC through state government, not directly. He thinks that there is no need of direct fund from centre. At present state government allocates  funds for  TTAADC  fund from e three sectors – plan fund, share of taxes and transfer of funds. From natural gas state gets 30 percent and from forest and others  70 percent of shares.

The forest minster said that the state government have decided to hand over 7 more sub division  forest offices   to TTAADC. At present there are 17 forest division under TTAADC. There are 11 range offices  in the new 7 sub division forest offices. The seven division are Kanchanpur, manu, karbook, Jampuijala,Gandacherra, Killa and Khashiamangal.

Under the forest right act beneficiaries have right to 40 trees. The state government wants full right of all trees for beneficiaries. The centre should simplify the existing law. The minister stated at present under FRA pastas was given to 1.40 lakh of famiies.  Even though the centre has asked to stop given pattas to forest dwellers but the state government has not stopped it, the minister added.
