TTAADC: 60 new village committees after delimitation, election to held as per schedule

Agartala, Oct 4 (TIWN): The election of village committees will take place in schedule time, said Radhacharan Debbarma, CEM of Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council ( TTAADC). Talking to TIWN on Saturday he informed for more decentralization power grass root level it was decided to increase the number of village committees. After delimitation number village committees will be 587, earlier it was 529.

The delimitation was effective in villages committees where the population is more than 4000, demarcation of boundaries will start soon, said Debbarma. Speaking about the creation of  60 new village committees he said after ruling left front regained power in 2005 development received a new dimension in TTAADC.

People are enjoying real power, playing an active role in development process, there was impressive development in connectivity, drinking water power, education, health during last one decade claimed Debbarma. Taking a dig at those who shed crocodile tears for the tribal people said they were in power during two terms ( 1990 – 95, 2000 – 05), people life have become a hell.

Today those who claim themselves to be protector of democracy, while in power dissolved all elected bodies, no election was conducted . Only political appointee was done to loot the money meant for development of people.

Debbarma also  demanded  from the centre to start three tier  elected bodies like panchayat raj in TTAADC. The people residing in  TTAADC should also enjoy the same rights as enjoyed by those people leaving outside TTADC..
