AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): With the aim to look forward for the development of the Tribal section of the society a new team namely ‘Congress ST Department’ is set up at Congress Bhawan on Friday.
Sochistso Debbarma is appointed as the Chairman of the department and will look forward to provide equal rights to the tribal section of the society.
Speaking at the program PCC President Birajit Sinha said that, the main aim behind forming this committee is to look for the equal development of the tribal’s of the society. He further said that tribal’s are the most deprived section of the society. Only because of the misrule of the ruling party the tribal’s are lagging behind, added Sinha.
However, 22 members are appointed as the Vice-president, 18 as general secretary, 21 as secretary, and 30 as a member of the department.
PCC president Birajit Sinha also said that the congress with the initiative of the Congress ST Department’ will place deputation to Governor in the end of November to raise voice against the deprivation of the tribal’s in the society by the ruling government.
