AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): The Tripura government on Tuesday has decided to increase the Swavalamban scheme by 5 per cent. The decision has been taken up in the cabinet meeting.
Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the government has decided to increase the subsidy from 25 percent to 30 percent of the total cost of the project and raised the ceiling from the existing Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 65,000.
As of now 11279 beneficiaries have been aided with Swavalamban scheme and Rs. 178.06 crores have been spend to set up small businesses for self employment. The existing subsidy for women at 35 % will remain same, Sarkar said after the cabinet meeting.
State Cabinet on Tuesday also approved four new pension schemes today for Female domestic workers, Transgender persons, Leprosy patients and AIDS patients.
