KAMALPUR, July 28 (TIWN): Single counter billing system created much problem and harassment for the customers of TSECL Kamalpur sub-division. The customers whether women, aged persons or physically unfit persons- all have to stand in queue for hours together. And the situation prevailed for last fortnight as the billing computer of a counter got out of order. Every day the customers had to suffer the same fate.
One woman customer told to TIWN, “The scenario prevailed for almost last fortnight. I thrice attempted for paying bills. And now when I have no other way left but to pay the bills then I have to tolerate the inhuman circumstances as only one counter left available for paying bills.
” Another aged person alleged that, although separate counters left marked for women and senior citizens, but those counters were never opened. Many employees and teachers alleged that, they had to take a day’s casual leave as for a single counter they had to spend half of the day standing in the queue. But why the customers should suffer such a situation while two counters always run in the office.
According to the TSECL Kamalpur Senior Manager Swapan Shilsharma, “One computer got out of order. We reported it to the higher up officials and are waiting for their order to rectify. Unless we receive the order, we are hopeless to remedy. I hope that the situation will be remedied soon.” Now when the situation got remedies is the matter to be seen.
