AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): On the auspicious occasion of retuning of Rath, a health camp has been organized on Sunday at the premises of the Jaganath Temple. The programme has been organized with the initiatives of the Jagannath Bari Committee.
The initiative has been taken to treat the poor people in free of cost. The programme was inaugurated by the Maharaj of the Jagannath Bari.
At the camp more than 200 poor people has done their treatment. The camp includes eye check, blood test, test for diabetic patients and many more.
There were three Doctors who were treating the patients.
The patients were aslo given free medicines.
It has been mentioned that whole year the committee use to take some fruitful initiatives for the betterment of the public.
Rath Yatra or Jatra is the celebration of the Lord Jagannath, who is believed to be the Lord of Universe's journey towards his aunt's house.
The festival begins with the Ratha Prathistha or invoking ceremony in the morning, but the Ratha Tana or chariot pulling is the most exciting part of the festival, which begins in the late afternoon when the chariots of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhdra start rolling.
On the occasion of Ratha Yatra, fair are held at many places of Tripura. The largest Ratha of Tripura is found at Melaghar. Thousands of people take part on this festival at Melaghar. Agartala Jaganath Temple is decorated on the eve of this occasion. The Rath Yatra procession attracts thousands of devotees from all over Tripura to Agartala.
Prior to the traverse, all the priests have performed their rituals as per the tradition in the Jagannath Bari temple at Agartala.
The festival will end after seven days when the deities make their way back to the Jagannath temple.
