AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Tension erupted among the locals of Udaipur Kalyansagar lake area after one hatchling from Udaipura Kalyansagar Lake recovered from highway road. The hatchling was found came out from the lake and moved some 200 meter away from the lake area.
However, later getting an alarm the District Forest Officer (DFO) rushed to the spot and recovered the hatchling and left it in the lake.
The locals said as the concerned officials are engaged demolishing the lake embankment the hatchling has come out and managed to come at the highway.
They also claimed that might be there are some other hatchlings or the tortoises which has already come out from the lake as the work is underway at the lake.
It is to be mentioned here that forest officials being pushed by the High Court recently are engaged to the work to demolish the cemented embankment with an aim to construct breeding ground for the rare tortoises in Kalyansagar Lake.
Recently several hatchlings were found from the breeding ground near the lake which was earlier build.
