KAMALPUR, July 18 (TIWN): A TSR jawan namely Ahamed Nur and his allied Rubel Ali were gheraod and handed over to BSF by the villagers of Chnadannagar last night for allegedly claiming himself as special branch cop and demanding bribe from an elected panchayat member here at Kamalpur. Police produced him before the Court of SDJM and due to the weak forwarding of police the duo granted bail.

According to the allegation of the villagers of Chnadannagar, Ahamed and Rubel went to the house of Halhuli panchayat member Ramlal Pashi thrice enquiring of him.

When they met him they presented him as the special branch cops and alleged Ramlal being connected with arms smugglering. AT around 9 pm last night the duo again went to his house and then the villager’s gheraod them.

The villagers called on BSF and handed them to the force. Later BSF handed the duo to the Kamalpur police station. Police registered a case numbered 53/2015 under 448, 419, 354B sections of IPC. Then the arrested were produced before the court of SDJM and granted bail. The sources from the Court revealed that, the arrested were granted bail due to weak forwarding of police.
