AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Tripura Tea Workers Union (TTWU) on Wednesday placed deputation to the labour Commissioner Swapan Das demanding to take necessary initiatives for the tea workers.
The union has demanded enforce the trilateral agreement as soon as possible which is related to the wages of tea workers in different parts of the state.
They further complained that earlier for every 6 working days the wages was Rs. 8 but according to the agreement more Rs. 6 has been added with the Rs. 8, but till day in some gardens the labours are getting the earlier amount that is Rs. 8.
Though the trilateral agreement includes the house hold matter, till day no initiative has been taken in this regard, said the members of the Union.
Agitated members of the union said that if an immediate action is not taken then they will be bound to take a legal action against the authority of the tea garden.
Blaming the concern authority they also demanded that every year though there is 25 per-cent of integrate agreement but till day there are some tea gardens where it has not been enforced yet.
