SABROOM, July 12 (TIWN): Deplorable condition of muddy road near Satchand H.S. School under South Tripura summons troubles for the School going students due to heavy rainfall. Satchand Block Administration, PWD Sabroom Division, Sabroom Sub Divisional Administration have no urgency to take any step to improve the present condition of the muddy Road.

The present road turns from its original shape into a muddy or dusty road and the commuters have no option but to travel through this long stretch of “jumpy bumpy” road full of potholes and boulders, at times risking their own life particularly school going students.

According to the reports, accidents on that way are frequent due to such condition of the road. The condition of the road is so poor that walking on it also gives a terrifying experience. The condition of the road has become so deplorable that residents term it 'adventurous' if someone is found walking on them, especially after the dusk.

Resentment brewed also among the students over such a deplorable condition of road. If immediate initiative to repair the road is not taken, it would turn hazardous for commuters.

Since roads indirectly contribute to the economic growth of the country, it is extremely essential that the roads are well laid out and strong. Poor road network stifles rural development and our empowerment programmes will come to naught as long as our rural areas are cut off from us. Is this called the “Golden Era” that lacks the basic needs for the villagers of the state? Can Chief Minister Manik Sarkar take a pain to take a stock of such types of worst Muddy Road of the state, and omit this type of Kaccha Roads from the rural parts of the state?
