Agartala, Sep 6, (TIWN): A team of the 14th Finance Commission will visit the state in November and meet the Chief Minister of the state, Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury told. The visit is having no definite agenda but will speak for related financial issues which are all connected with the state. Experts said, this visit will make the Chief Minister ‘speak negative’ about the ‘irrelevant’ decisions of the Central Government, regarding few recently taken ‘decisions’.

Criticizing the new Pension Bill, the Finance Minister added, “It is an anti-constitutional policy which will be applicable to all regular employees who joined service after January 01, 2004. Over 24000 employees of the state are apprehended to be affected by the policy”. Minister also added that there is no provision to provide assured returns to the employees. The hard-earned savings of the people would be invested in private securities”, he alleged.

Mr. Chowdhury claimed, “There is no mention about nominees of pension holders in case the direct pension holder passes away. There is no mention of interest payable to pension holders if award of the same is delayed for some reason.
