AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): In view of having separate Company for power transportation, power distribution and power generation as per the Central Electricity Act 2003, the Tripura Government had planned to start a separate power generation company. However the company had already started functioning with a newly inducted advisor, said Power Minister Manik Dey.Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat on Tuesday Minister Manik Dey said, “The cabinet meeting on Tuesday has decided to recruit new Chairman cum Managing Director, Director Technical and Chief Financial Officer cum Official Secretary for the power generation company.â€Adding to that Dey further informed that the work at the power generation company had already started and a new advisor has been inducted. At present the three projects under the power generation company of the state is under the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL).The projects would be handed over with the three existing power generation company at Baramura, Rukhia and Dumbur very shortly, said Dey. Dey also said earlier the state government was unable to build separate power Generation Company due to some financial crisis and other problems but later it has been decided that another new power generation company would be launched here at the state.
The cabinet on Tuesday had decided to create some couple of posts under the Power department who would be inducted to the separate power generation company.
