Teachers must take responsibility: Manik

Agartala, Sep 5 (TIWN): Teachers must take responsibility. If students succeed then teachers are responsible for that and vice-e-versa. Today, addressing the gathering at Town Hall, marking the 52nd Teachers’ Day, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar uttered the above lines.

Two teachers- Karuna Kanta Debbarma, Headmaster of Ramkeshab CP High School’s primary section and Arunangshu Lodh, PGT of Bodhjungnagar Girls’ HS School, from the state were given national award on Thursday by the President of India, for their contribution in teaching.

Gour Gopal Bhattacharjee, Headmaster of DN Vidyamandir of Dharmanagar has been selected for the prestigious Pandit Iswarchandra Vidyasagar Samman Award.  He was awarded by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at today’s central function to mark this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration. Besides, 22 more teachers were also felicitated in the Teachers’ Day celebration programme.

While Chief Minister will inaugurated the programme, Higher Education Minister Bhanu Lal Saha, Social Welfare Minister Bijita Nath, AMC Chairperson Dr. Prafullajit Sinha, Chief Secretary Dr.SK Panda and Director of School Education PK Chakravarty were present in the programme amongst others. The programme was presided over by School Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty.
