Udaipur : Negligence of locals contaminates Jagannath Lake water

UDAIPUR, June 11 (TIWN): Water which is the life line of every living being on this earth is undergoing major threat of pollution. It is the scenario of Jagannath Lake under Udaipur Municipal Council where people dump all the household garbage. The shops which are installed nearby the lake, without any regret dump the trash on the lake which turns it in to hazardous condition.

According to the report, a plan was taken by the State Government to purify the water of the lake in three month of tenure. However, the initiative delayed by 10 months, resulting deplorable condition of the water body. The delay has also distress the condition of the lake. Aiming to implement the plan in due time the authority has blocked the road creating obstacles in the daily life exertion.

Once the Jagannath Lake symbolized the beauty of nature, but today it has turned in to hazardous condition due to the misuse of the water and dumping of garbage.

The quality of water of the Jagannath Lake continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate. The implementation of the plan has also discontinued the students who use to come to learn swimming.

This situation may lead to various kinds of water borne diseases like malaria and others, the people may also strike with viruses. People mostly prefer bottled water, tap water and fresh water to drink but avoid the deplorable water of the lake.

However, if the situation continues it will invite various kinds of water born diseases and scarcity of fresh water in the state.

It is worthy to mention here that there are various interior parts of the state, where the population has been facing acute scarcity of fresh water due to which they have to depend on the contaminated water. But here the people due to the negligence of the people the water bodies are getting contaminated.

 

Along with polluting the water, these activities are also destroying the surroundings leading to various water borne diseases.
