KAILASHAR, June 9 (TIWN): Pineapple harvesting has improved the livelihood of the farmers of Zamtal Bari under Chandi Block. This year the pineapple harvesting made possible by Agricultural Department, is providing more revenue to farmers of Zamtal Bari area.
Additional 7 hectors of land will be included to increase the production of pineapple which would benefit the farmers who are dependent over this cultivation.
Around 100 farmers who were involved with the pineapple cultivation, expressed gratitude to the Non-Governmental Organization who have been buying the production with hefty amount. As per the report, around 95 percent of farmers have been selling their production with a good amount.
Srirampur Agri Sector officer Sandeep Pal said that most of the families of the area earn 1 lakh to 50 lakh per year by selling pineapple. He further stated that the agricultural department has been taking proper initiatives to improve the agricultural sector of the area.
The department has provided Rs.16, 000 to Rs. 54, 000 to the farmers according to the allocation of the land. Further, they also distributed fertilizers and agricultural equipment to the farmers to improve.
It has been noticed that the help received from the department improved the Agricultural sector of the area. However, if such kinds of benefits are further received by the farmer then the day is not so far when pineapple harvesting will grow in the state.
