BELONIA, June 1 (TIWN): More than 300 students of Joshmura High School under Rajnagar Block of Belonia Sub-Division deprived form their basic rights of education due to lack of teacher in the school.
With an issue of teacher shortage in the Joshmura High School, teachers along with students locked the school gate during the school time, today. It has been said that for last many days the school has been facing acute shortage of teachers which is creating problems for the teachers as well as schools.
According to the report, earlier a total of 13 teachers were assigned to take the classes of more than 300 students of the school. A couple of days earlier, among the 13 teachers, 2 were given transfer to some other schools. It has become hectic for the remaining teachers to take the classes.
It has been further enhanced that among 11 teachers, 4 of them are under-graduate and remaining 7 are graduate with B.A Degree. After taking the assigned classes they also take the classes of science subjects and maths as the school has not assigned any teachers for the science subjects.
Resentment spreads among the teachers and the guardians when none of the concern officials visited the school after the school gate was locked to know the reason behind.
The teacher’s claimed that being a B.A pass they had to take classes of science subjects. Though they face various problems while conducting classes but as no options are left for them, they are bound to take these classes.
The teachers further stated that they have been informing the Panchayats, Local MLA’ along with the Local Leaders but no initiatives has been taken to modify the situation of the school and to improve the education system of the school for the betterment of the student.
Head Master, Shukharanjan Majumder accepting issue of shortage of teachers in the school claimed that during free time he also take the science classes, as there has been no science teacher assigned for the school.
However, at around 3 pm Belonia Inspector of Schools Amal Das along with other deputy visited the school and listening to the teachers, he assured to assign 2 more teachers for the school so that the school run smoothly and the students get the benefit of the education.
Further, based on the statement of the Amal Das the teachers along with the guardians said that if the recruitment of the teachers are not done on time then they will be bound to conduct a major rally against the officials.
