
Agartala, Sept 2 (TIWN) Tripura governor Devanand Konwar Sunday flagged-off the “Vivek Rath†(consciousness chariot) here to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Organised by the Ram Krishna Mission in Tripura, the “Vivek Rath” will tour across Tripura for 11-days to spread the life, philosophy and principles of Swami Vivekananda.
“It was very essential to organise the “Vivek Rath” to boost the life and aim of Swamiji among the people specially amongst the youths,” Konwar said at a function organised on the occasion at Dhaleswar here.
Agartala Municipal Council Chairperson Dr Prafullajit Sinha, Ram Krishna Mission’s Tripura head Swamy Hitkamananda Maharaj, Tripura government’s principal Secretary Banamali Sinha and CRPF’s deputy inspector general Balaram Shil among others spoke in the function.
