Agartala, Aug 31, (TIWN): The state government has succeeded in fulfilling the target of converting all the illiterates to literate but this tradition would have to be continued further. This, presently, is the notion of the state government.
Regarding this, recently, Finance Minister, Badal Choudhury said that the state government would have to introduce vocational training apart from this continuing education. To come up to this plan, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar asked to form a special team led by ICA Minister Bhanulal Saha which would submit a report on scope of educational and vocational training for the newly-made literates. On the basis of this report, an action plan would be prepared.
While reviewing the issue at the general body meeting of state Literacy Mission Authority few days back, the Chief Minister including other Ministers expressed satisfaction at this success. “The success was achieved due to the joint initiatives of Zilla Parishad and district administration. After struggling for the past 20 years, the state has achieved this success in literacy drive”, said Manik Sarkar, recently. Finance Minister Badal Choudhury said that they aimed at reaching the state at the top level in the sector of literacy.
