AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): Opposition leader Jiten Chowdhury on Sunday appealed to the Government of Tripura to extend help to the families who lost their children in accidents or external forces in the state. He cited a few incidents, starting from the Chanmari tragedy, where two kids died in waterlogged areas. He showed examples from Ramshankar Para ADC area, Mohanpur, where two children died while they were on a school trip.
Chowdhury also mentioned how a girl died mysteriously in Manu, Sabroom, where her brother was arrested out of suspicion.
“I really appreciate the move of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who visited Jirania to meet Chanmari incident victims. The CM made it amid his tight schedule, which is really praiseworthy,” said Chowdhury. “He also assured financial help, which is great, although financial help is just like a drop of water in a sea in comparing with the loss the family is facing. Nothing can reduce the pains of such a loss, but still CM did his duty.”
“So, I would request him to look after each such case, where parents lost their loved ones and extend help in similar ways,” added Chowdhury.
