AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN): Two kids died after they slipped into a water-logging in the capital city Agartala’s Chanmari area. Opposition CPI-M leaders, including party secretary Jitendra Chowdhury, visited the spot and talked to the locals. The opposition party demanded a proper investigation into the matter to find whose negligence caused the tragedy. The party also asked the government to allocate funds from the Disaster Management department as well as from the builder.
“We wanted to meet the devastated parents of the deceased kids, but they had already left for Jirania. They are originally from Jirania, most likely connected to the construction works here,” said Jiten Chowdhury.
“We demand a probe into the incident. It’s visible that no safety precaution was taken in the water-logged areas. Govt must look into the matter and bring the promoter under accountability,” added Chowdhury.
