After the complaint was lodged, Sonamura police immediately arrested Billal Mia’s family, but within a day, they were all released.

The kidnapped girl could not be rescued yet.

Victim family alleged, police are not acting neutrally because of political pressure on them. They said, the kidnapping took place after they refused the marriage proposal of Billal Mia, considering the age of the minor girl, but since then Billal Mia and his family continued to pressure them for marriage.

They also alleged, it was Upa-Pradhan Firoz Mia who came to police station and released his nephew.

Now pressures are allegedly put on the victim family to withdraw the complaint.
