AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): Opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury accused the Education Department of failing to play an independent role and allowing outsider organizations to “brainwash” the kids when they are still shaping their minds. The reaction came after a notification was issued by Director of Secondary Education Nripendra Chandra Sharma instructing District Education Officers to organize workshops on ‘the benefits of cows’ and their products. Pointing at the organizers who are Gobangsha Raksha Sambardhan Samity, Chowdhury said, “Not even 0.001% population of Tripura has ever heard about such an organization. No doubt, the organizers are RSS backed and it’s an attempt to brainwash the kids when they are at the stage of shaping their thoughts and mind.”
Chowdhury said that if it was organized by the Animal Welfare Department, then it was still okay, but the way this organization was allowed to enter schools is a total violation of the country's independent and federal structure.
