AGARTALA, March 26 (TIWN): Opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury, who was questioned on his community’s nature by Minister Ratan Lal Nath on 24th March, after he raised questions on some BJP Ministers’ wealth rise, has accused Minister Ratan Lal Nath of removing Assembly data. “When we appealed Ratan Lal Nath to withdraw his remarks, the speaker insisted Ratan Lal Nath’s speech was not derogatory,” said Chowdhury. “After not receiving justice from the speaker, I decided to issue a notice-letter and submitted it to the registrar’s office”, said Chowdhury. “That time, there was no other letter in the Assembly registrar dispatch, but things started changing after they got my letter.”

“Yesterday till night 11 PM, Ratan Lal Nath forced Assembly officials to destroy some records. Today in the Assembly, as an excuse for not accepting my notice, the speaker said Ratan Lal Nath’s PA submitted the letter to Speaker’s PA before my letter was received. Doesn’t the Minister’s PA know about dispatch? Why a PA will hand over notice to Speaker’s PA?” asked Jiten Chowdhury.

Watch here : "Tripura Assembly speaker is behaving like a Corrupt Match #referee," said Jiten Chowdhury, accused Minister Ratan Lal Nath of spoiling Assembly data.

“According to rules, any letter which will come at the dispatch will be accepted first. But unfortunately, by totally violating the rules, my notice was refused to be accepted,” said Chowdhury referring to how his notice was rejected.

“Nothing unfortunate to see how speaker is not obeying the Assembly laws. He has slaughtered the democracy in broad-daylight,” said Chowdhury.

Protesting against this, the CPI-M legislators walked out of the Assembly, boycotting the Assembly for the entire session.
