AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary cum Opposition Leader Jitendra Chowdhury Saturday called BJP and its ally Tipra Motha party the boon to corruption. “Right now it’s triple engine’s government. Let’s exclude IPFT party from the discussion, which has only one Minister in the cabinet who is more BJP than IPFT. But Tipra Motha’s 9 MLAs are silent on the BJP Govt’s activities. Forget about other issues, they don’t even raise the Tipraland issue. Tipraland is their issue, even though we support it but they are not muted over their own agenda,” said Chowdhury.
“Some recruitments happened in the ADC recently and it’s all about duplicity. People from Shillong, Gujarat, and other states were recruited there,” he said.
Jitendra Chowdhury addressed the media on the occasion of the BJP Government’s two-year completion under CM Dr. Manik Saha, opposing the government’s claim on massive development in the state.
The opposition leader accused the BJP Govt of impeding transparency through a subsidiary commission system in the state.
Pointing to the health services, Chowdhury said, “Once in a while, some outside Doctors are invited and then the GB hospital team conducts critical operations like heart transplants, etc. But my question is, why is there no second heart transplant at GB after such media hypes?”
Chowdhury also pointed indirectly to Minister Ratan Lal Nath for turning his constituency into a den for Ganja cultivation.
“Even the municipality areas are given up to such practices in Mohanpur,” said Chowdhury. “Why don’t police raid those areas ?”
