A total of 22 KG of marijuana was seized by West Agartala Police, which would be worth over Rs. 8 lakhs.

A resident of Goalabasti, Rana Sheikh, S/O-Matiur Rahma was arrested in this connection.

SDPO Debaprasad Roy said, based on secret information police formed a team along with Ramagar police.

Police both in civil dress as well as in uniform raided various areas and successfully arrested one person in this connection from the Lankamura area.

“A total 11 packets of Ganja was recovered containing 2 kg of marijuana in each, totalling 22 KG. The accused person’s bike was also seized by police. A specific NDPS case has been lodged in connection to the case,” said the cop.
