AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): A huge quantity of drugs was seized by Airport police in an anti-drug operation on Saturday.

The drugs were hidden under mud-covered area. The seized drugs involve Ganja, Phensedyl like illegal items.  

The drive was attended by IPS Sudhir Kumar, OC-Abhijit Mandal along with police and TSR jawans.

Houseowner, resident of Narayanpur kept 78 KG of Ganja, and 975 Bottles of illegal cough syrup kept these things under the soil.

IPS Sudhir Kumar informed media, the drive was held by police based on a secret tip.

“The contraband items were kept in a hole, covered by tin, and dry leaves were spread over the tin cover,” Kumar told media.

A total of 78 Kilo Ganja, 975 bottles of phensedyl were found. Each of the bottles was 100 ml. The seized items would be worth over 30 lakh.
