SONAMURA, March 1 (TIWN): Mohummad Yunus, a resident of Melaghar’s Mohanbhog was sentenced to three years jail after he was found guilty in beating up his neighbor and assaulting her which left the victim hospitalized for a while.
Yunus was also fined with Rs. 10,000. Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sonamura Subhadeep Saha pronounced the verdict.
During a verbal clash between Yunus and neighbor Akhirani Pal, Yunus attacked on her. He also attacked other family members in her home. In this incident, Chinu Rani Pal, sister-in-law of Akhirani Pal was injured and hospitalized.
ASI Birendra Das investigated the case and submitted a chargesheet against Yunus. After hearing both sides, a judge sentenced him to three-year jail.
