AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): Surrendered militant group NLFT on Tuesday organized a press meet appealing people not to give any donation if someone asks for it on behalf of NLFT because NLFT does not collect any donations.
During the press meet, NLFT leaders were asked, how long it would take to complete the projects under Rs. 250 Crores that was announced by the Union Govt during the MoS sign with NLFT.
NLFT President Prasenjit Debbarma said the deadline for the developmental project’s completion is four years.
Debbarma said, right now, works need to be done, for example, they have to sit together and decide which areas need what project for the area’s growth. Then the targeted areas and projects will be brought under the package.
NLFT had surrendered this year, in exchange for compensation and a package of Rs. 250 crores for tribal people’s development. An MoS was signed with the government of India, state government and NLFT.
