AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Aug 26 (TIWN): Flood has hit Tripura in the last 5 days causing thousands of crores of losses to the public as well as to the government. Departmental surveys are continuing to measure the losses, whereas the Minister of Agriculture and Power said, at least Rs. 600 crores of losses are being reported in these two departments. Dozens of people have died due to the flood led calamities. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said, he talked to Union Home Minister Amit Saha about this issue and the Minister assured full support from the centre.
Dr. Saha said, a team from the central government will be sent soon to survey the after-flood situations.
On a social media post, CM wrote, “Spoke to Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji and apprised him of the latest situation arising out of the unprecedented natural calamity of the flood in the State. He assured of the continued all out support to the State Government. He also informed that the Union Government would be sending a team to Tripura immediately to take stock of the situation. Grateful to Hon’ble Home Minister for his instantly coming to the aid of the people of Tripura in this hour of crisis.”
