AGARTALA, June 11 (TIWN): Common men blocked road seeking relief from electricity and drinking water crisis.
The blockade continued for 5 hours from Rambhadra to Jatanbari road in Korbook.
Talking to local people, they said, they have no drinking water access in their area.
“There is no electricity, roads and drinking water in our area. As the roads of Tithmukh Rambhadra, Bholanath, and Jaobind paras under Karbuk sub-division have been in deplorable state for many years, were are helpless,” said an agitating person.
As a result of blocking the road, many vehicles got stuck on both sides of the road. Jatanbari Outpost Police Station OC and Notun Bazar Police Station SI Jahar Debbarma reached the spot to convince the people to withdraw the protest.
The PWD official also rushed at the end to clear the road. The officials assured the protesters to solve their problems at the earliest.
