KUMARGHAT, June 7 (TIWN): Heavy rains caused extensive damage to agriculture in Kumarghat division of the state, as farmers' crops were swallowed by the flood water. As a result, the people of the agricultural sector have been left devastated. Due to the impact of Cyclone Remal, Tripura has suffered continuous heavy and moderate rainfall in various places. Because of this rain, the people of the agricultural sector are now in trouble. Heavy rains have wreaked havoc on farmers in the Kumarghat subdivision of the Unakoti district along with other parts of the state. Fatikarai, Indira Colony, Krishnanagar, Ganganagar, Gokulnagar are the most affected areas. Due to the seasonal calamities, the vegetable market prices may shoot up.
The areas currently have crops of various monsoon vegetables. Farmers said that these vegetables are exported from these areas to various markets of the state as well as local markets.
