AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): National Congress leader, now winner of two constituencies Rahul Gandhi came up with his concise definition of INDIA’s fight against BJP in the recently held Lok Sabha election that it was to “Save the Constitution”. Holding the Constitution in his hand, Gandhi said, “It was in my mind! When they (BJP Govt) seized our bank accounts and arrested Chief Ministers, it came to my mind that now the people of India will stand up to save the constitution. It has proven true. I thank the people of India and our party workers from the core of my heart for today's result." "We believe Congress successfully recognized the values of the parties under the alliance and our vision shown to the nation was very clear. BJP attacked the constitution. BJP attacked the reservation system....... If I talk about poverty, have you seen Adani's stocks? When Modi falls, Adani falls. It proves the direct corruption link between the party and Adani," said Gandhi.

He further appreciated the voters of Uttar Pradesh, saying, "I appreciate the political wisdom of the people of UP".

"Poor people have contributed the most to save the constitution. Many people were silenced but the poor people took the stand and saved the constitution," said Gandhi.

"We will fulfill all the promises given to the people of India including Jati-Janganana, Maha Laxmi," he said.
