AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Reacting to the Kathaltali Gangrape incident, Chief Minister Manik Saha said, his Govt will show zero-tolerance against any such crimes. “The moment I was informed about the incident, I was on way to Udaipur. Immediately, I had called the SP for arrest of the all culprits and police are doing their jobs. Such crimes are outburst of sick mentality and that’s too. Such incidents are unfortunately happening across the world and here too but you (media) have to observe what is our role. Our Govt has acted on the incident and culprits are arrested. Investigation is underway”, CM told media persons.
FIR was lodged against three persons : Gautam Sarma, Sudip Chetri and Prasenjit Pal for raping second year college student in the capital city Agartala, under Amtali PS.
Out of three accused persons, 2 (Gautam Sarma, Sudip Chetri) arrested in Kathaltali Gangrape incident. Rs. 90 lakhs cash seized from absconding accused Prasenjit Pal's home.
