AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): Tripura “Mohila Sangram Parishad” has given a deputation to the State Government to take strict action against drug addiction in the state.
The deputation was placed to DM West.
Talking to a member of the group, she said, “When in 2018 BJP-IPFT Govt came to power, it was assured that Drug smuggling will meet an end in Tripura with the slogan of ‘Nesha Mukt Tripura’, but practically nothing happened. Then this year, CM Manik Saha has assured the same promise and said there will be zero-tolerance against Drug but in reality, the scenario is opposition. Police in some cases are taking action but failed to go to the root and also unable to catch the main figures behind the racket. As a result, the generation is gripped under the clutches of drugs, which needs to be saved”.
