AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): BJP’s infighting is taking a new shape in Pratapgarh.

After a telephonic conversation was made viral about Mandal President Chitta Deb indicating, Chitta Deb is trying to save Drug smuggler’s family, Chitta Deb organized a press meet with the accused family, claiming that he and this family both area targeted.

Chitta Deb accused the Booth President of defaming him.

“I said if the accusation of drug-peddling exists against someone, legally this issue can be handled but just because of political identity, a family should not be targeted for extortions. This family was asked to give money many times and when such victims come to us, we have to give them shelter. But when the family could not give money and also developed a land issue with the Booth President, such accusations were brought and now because I asked to keep the matter on hold for few days and legal actions, instead of club led action, I am being defamed”, said Chitta Debbarma.

The issue was raised after BJP’s Mandal President of Pratapgarh named Chitta Deb was heard in a leaked telephonic conversation with his party friend over Drug issues. In the audio the Mandal President Chitta Deb was asking a Booth President to maintain silence over an incident.

Now, it’s to be seen how party resolved the matter. Whether drug peddling accusation against the family is correct or an intrigue, it could not be known.
