AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): A CPIM worker named Abdul Karim was brutally beaten up by miscreants for supporting CPIM in South Ramnagar area on Tuesday.
Reportedly, Abdul Karim a CPIM supporter and worked for Individual Candidate Purushottam Roy Barman ahead of the 2023’s Assembly Poll. And after the election results were announced Abdul Karim went to Bangladesh and returned home a few days ago. But after he returned some miscreants kept some drugs at him home and with false blame severally beat him up. As a result Abdul Karim was injured critically and fighting with death.
He is currently under treatment at GB hospital. After getting news of the incident, former MLA Ratan Das rushed to the GB Hospital and strongly condemned the incident.
Injured Abdul Karim’s wife alleged that the miscreants from Joypur area demanded Rs 1 lakh from her and in exchange, his wife said that Rs 40,000 she can arrange to give them and will give this amount on this 1st April but before that the miscreants beat Abdul Karim brutally.
