AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday laughed at the opposition parties for taking each other’s help to defeat BJP at each step. The statement came from CM after Opposition CPI-M, Congress, Tipra Motha had announced Congress MLA Gopal Roy’s name as the Speaker candidate for the Assembly. CM said, “The opposition parties have no other work. They are busy for taking each other’s help to challenge BJP. At first they took help of two parties and now the third party has been added. That’s all their work. But, their defeat is inevitable”.
Tripura Speaker poll is to be held on March 24 and March 23 is the last date for nomination submission.
On being asked by media who are going to be BJP’s speaker candidate, CM Dr. Manik Saha said, it will be announced shortly.

Right now, BJP and IPFT's alliance team is holding 32 seats in Assembly and Opposition parties have 27 led by CPM, Congress, Tipra Motha.
