AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): Miscreants organized a fatal attack on three BJP leaders in North Bharatchandra Nagar area under Belonia Assembly Constituency late last night. Two were able to escape with minor injuries, but the miscreants beat up one brutally and made injured critically.

On being informed, fire department personnel rescued them and brought them to Belonia Hospital. Although two were released after being given first aid, but injured one is still under treatment in critical condition.

The injured BJP workers are Suman Debnath, Yuva Morcha president of booth No.-8, Shanti Sarkar, Booth vice-president of the same booth, and Prematosh Bhowmik, secretary of North Bharatchandra Nagar Bazar Committee.

A local BJP leader said that the incident took place when they were on the way home from a local festival.

This incident was reported to the police at night. A written case will be filed.
