AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): BJP High Command has selected Manik Saha to continue as the Chief Minister of Tripura. On Monday evening, all legislators held meeting in the party headquarter, Agartala Krishna Nagar and Dr. Manik Saha's name was taken for Assembly leader which is also synonymous to CM post. Party has congratulated Dr Manik Saha and a initial celebration was held in the party office. Sweets distribution and greetings were exchanged. CM Manik Saha was appointed first as the CM on May 14 in 2022 replacing Biplab Deb followed by negative reports about Biplab Deb received by BJP High Command. Although till now the reason behind Biplab Deb's sacking was not disclosed but party has not given MLA ticket to Biplab Deb in 2023 poll.

On the contrary to Manik Saha's assurance about gifting democratic Govt to the people, Biplab Deb had introduced a violent political culture and held extreme torture of civilians from journalists to netizens. In broad daylight newspaper offices, opposition party offices were vandalized and bike gang was invented whose job was to attack house to house, added by later helmet gangs who in front of police were licensed to vandalism. Manik Saha continues to say that no such hooliganism will be tolerated and drug-network will be ended. Now it's to be seen what will be the outcome of the continuation of Manik Saha's regime who was appointed just one year before Assembly poll 2023.
