AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): BJP has won Tripura Assembly but received tough fight with the opposition across all constituencies. BJP and IPFT together has bagged 33 Assembly seats whereas the opposition parties CPI-M Congress together got 14 seats, and Tipra Motha alone got 13 seats. BJP State President Rajib Bhattacherjee could not win the seat in Banamalipur as Congress Ex-MLA Gopal Roy has won. However, no political party including BJP expressed total satisfaction over the victory.
Whereas Sudip Barman was upset heavily with the poor performance of the CPI-M and Congress alliance, BJP also said, they expected 40+ seats. Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, party will verify the laggings as Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman also lost the poll. Tipra Motha yet to comment over the party’s performance.
