AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): Left parties have announced candidates’ names introducing new 24 faces. Former CM Manik Sarkar also will not fight the poll to lead the poll workers. Tipra Motha reportedly has cut all contacts with Jitendra Chowdhury since yesterday although Jitendra Chowdhury agreed with the Greater Tipraland demand under 244A. However, Chowdhury still has requested Tipra Motha to align with Left Front and Congress and rethink about the issue.

Noteworthy, yesterday Pradyot Manikya, the Supremo of Tipra Motha held a meeting with NEDA Chairman cum Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, confirmed by Tipra Motha leader Animesh Debbarma when he was leaving for Delhi to join a meeting with Amit Shah.

Jitendra Chowdhury made it clear that Pradyot Manikya told him that Tipraland does not mean a separate state only, but it can be an area under 244A, a territory for socio-econmical development where the area will have their own Ministry. Jitendra Chowdhury told media that his party CPI-M had agreed with that and in addition, he proposed more power to the area of Greater Tipraland but after yesterday Pradyot Manikya did not contact him and today the news of Tipra Motha's meeting with Union Home Minister was flashed.

Jitendra Chowdhury also asked, how can the Home Minister give an assurance in writing when model code of conduct has been imposed by the ECI ? He also said Union Home Minister and Tipra Motha's meeting amid model-code of conduct is illegal and violation of the ECI guidelines.
