AGARTALA, Sep 23 (TIWN): Though Tripura Govt has enough to fund to organize orchestras, big concerts it is fundless when it’s about Sports Sector development. Blind players, and athletes of Tripura have achieved many awards nationally but Tripura Govt directly recently refused to fund the players for their preparations before sending them nationally. Sports Dept reportedly told them it’s not their matter but it’s social welfare dept’s matter. But that dept too refused to pay for any preparation and also no fund was given for their travels and food costs. All Tripura Blind Committee informed media that they are arranging the fund by collecting 10 rupees, 20 rupees donations but how long without Govt’s help they can run the show ?
Noteworthy, when Dipa Karmakar made her remarkable achievement in gymnastics, Govt not only appreciated but there was a competition between the Centre and State Govts to take credit for her achievement and same happens when anyone achieves anything nationally and internationally but in the real field Tripura Govt’s negligence is leaving many aspirants to give up their dreams.
Exposing the negligence of the Sports Dept to state’s talent, on Thursday All Tripura Blind Committee held a press meet and told media that when he sought help for Amzad Hossain, a national-level award winner the Sport Dept Official rubbished their proposal.
Even though Chief Minister Manik Saha was appreciated when he celebrated with youths at Astabal stadium by reaching there without convoy on Football final evening but why there is no funding for the state’s players? In the ADC huge talents of football are getting wasted due to no source for further progress and Govt’s negligence.
Sushanta Chowdhury is the Minister of ICAT and Sports both Dept. Now the Question is when inviting superstar Sonu Nigam has been praiseworthy under ICAT Dept, why so much negligence towards his other Dept which is Sports Dept?
